Aircore hollow carbon wheels

A class of it's own

Koenigsegg quite literally reinvented the wheel in 2012 when it introduced the patented Aircore technology, used to craft a new one-piece, hollow-core carbon fiber wheel.

Koenigsegg’s previous alloy wheels were already extremely light, yet the use of carbon fiber allowed for a 20 kg saving in un-sprung mass with no compromise whatsoever to the structural rigidity of the wheel. Savings in un-sprung mass are desirable in a performance car because this is weight that can’t be controlled by the suspension system.

Lighter wheels mean quicker acceleration as there is less weight to move from rest. They also mean less rotational mass, which results in more agile changes in direction (cornering) and more efficient braking.
